The Office of the Attorney General, the Florida Consortium of Urban League affiliates and Derrick Brooks Charities regret to inform you that due to new guidance from the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and data regarding the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19, the 2021 National Conference on Preventing Crime previously scheduled for August 25-27, 2021 in Orlando will be delayed indefinitely.
The Florida Office of The Attorney General National Conference on Preventing Crime is a collaborative effort sponsored by Attorney General Ashley Moody to foster communication and action among practitioners through the sharing of innovative ideas and prevention strategies that have been successful in all communities. This year’s conference will be hosted by Sheriff John W. Mina and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. A major component of the program will be directed toward alternatives to violence among our young people. The agenda is designed to showcase successful programs and promote a positive exchange of ideas on the subject. Approximately 1,000 people attended the 2019 conference’s event in Tampa, Florida.
